Kristoffer Reitan of Norway carded a 2-under-par 69 on Sunday to claim his first career PGA Tour victory at the Truist Championship in Charlotte.

While competitors in a four-way tie atop the leaderboard on the back nine faltered, Reitan remained steady in his 15th Tour start, becoming the second Norwegian to win a PGA event after Viktor Hovland.

His four-round aggregate of 15-under 269 at Quail Hollow Club gave him a two-shot advantage over Rickie Fowler (65 on Sunday) and Denmark’s Nicolai Hojgaard (68).

England’s Alex Fitzpatrick, who was seeking his second PGA Tour title in three weeks, stumbled with a 73 to finish fourth at 12 under after starting the day as the solo leader.

Playing alongside Fitzpatrick in the final pairing, Reitan seized the lead with a birdie at the 15th hole and then saved par after finding a bunker on the 16th.

Fowler, who posted his best round of the week on Sunday, had moved into a share of the lead at 14 under before faltering on the final hole. A bogey at No. 18 dropped him out of the tie. His approach shot landed in thick greenside rough, and he needed three more strokes to complete the hole.

Fitzpatrick, who entered the final round with a one-shot lead, struggled early, going 3 over through the first three holes, including a double-bogey 6 on the third. He rallied with birdies on three of the first four holes on the back nine but encountered more trouble later. He trailed Reitan by one stroke heading to the par-3 17th, but a double bogey there effectively ended his challenge.

J.J. Spaun (69), England’s Tommy Fleetwood (69) and South Korea’s Sungjae Im (70) tied for fifth at 11 under.

With only a few holes remaining, four players were locked at 14 under for the lead.

Hojgaard hit an errant approach on the 16th, and his bogey cost him a share of the lead.

Sam Burns and Australia’s Min Woo Lee fired the lowest rounds of the day, both shooting 64. Lee moved to 7 under to tie for 14th, while Burns finished tied for 37th at 2 under.
