Bruno Fuchs, who nearly became the hero in Sunday’s draw between Remo and Palmeiras, stated that the Verdão’s goal, scored deep into stoppage time, should not have been disallowed.
In the 49th minute, Bruno Fuchs found the net, which would have secured a comeback victory for Palmeiras. However, the goal was overturned after referee Rodrigo Rafael Klein reviewed the play via VAR.
The incident began with a corner kick. Flaco López attempted to win an aerial duel, and the ball struck his hand before falling to Fuchs, who finished the chance.
“I said that, based on my understanding of the rule, if Flaco had scored the goal, it would have been correctly disallowed. The ball hit Flaco’s hand, but then it came to me. The rule is very clear—it wasn’t an intentional handball on his part. The ball was close to him, and it rebounded to me. I was the one who scored. I don’t know if they need to know the rule better. I tried to talk to [the referee] and said, ‘Klein, the rule is clear: the ball hit Flaco and then came to me, not to him.’ In every match, all teams talk about the officiating. I’m not sure if the players need to understand it better or the referees themselves,” Fuchs told *Premiere*.
The Palmeiras defender also criticized the pitch conditions at Mangueirão. Due to heavy rain in Belém, the match, originally scheduled for 4 PM (Brasília time), was delayed by 1 hour and 40 minutes.
“Today, there were many factors—the delayed kickoff, the poor field condition from the rain. But we came here to get three points, and we didn’t manage that. For us, it’s a disappointing result.”
With the draw, Palmeiras saw Flamengo potentially close the gap in the Brasileirão standings. The Verdão remain on 34 points, while the Rubro-Negro need to beat Grêmio to reduce the six-point difference from the start of the round.

Palmeiras returns to action on Wednesday (13) for the second leg of the Copa do Brasil’s fifth round. In the first leg, the São Paulo side defeated Jacuipense 3–0.
