West Ham manager Nuno Santo questioned the officiating decision that disallowed his side’s late goal against Arsenal, expressing frustration after the match.
“Given how the game ended, we are all obviously disappointed and feel let down. I didn’t watch the replay because I didn’t want to get even angrier,” he said.
He added: “But there’s a referee, there’s VAR technology, and there have been past incidents that would have been judged differently. Let’s not talk about it any more.”
“Because of what has happened in recent seasons, even the referees themselves no longer know what is a foul and what isn’t. This creates a lot of doubt and speculation about the matter.”
“Looking at the overall game, before that incident we had a good chance. We played well in terms of character, belief, approach, and our pursuit of victory,” he continued.
“Overall, it was a good performance, but in the end it didn’t bring us the result we wanted, needed, and expected. We lost the match, and that’s it,” he concluded.
